Our building was formerly the Water Boards office originally, and then changed to the Northern Rock Building Society before we took it over.

The Local Area

Jarrow was primarily a Ship building town with the main employer being Charles Palmer who founded a Shipyard in 1852. Now a popular town located on the south bank The River Tyne about six miles inland from the coastal town of South Shields and roughly eight miles from Gateshead and Newcastle City where a wealth of amenities, leisure facilities, a wide range of shops and shopping malls can be found together with pubs and a bustling nightlight. Jarrow has great amenities, including a bustling shopping centre, a metro and bus station, which gives easy access to Newcastle city centre, plus brilliant road links.
